i am the noise

Hay una cita que uso bastante del Dr. Cox de Scrubs, particularmente cuando quiero parecer profundo hablando del amor, la cita es:

"Relationships don't work they way they do on television and in the movies. Will they? Won't they? And then they finally do, and they're happy forever. Gimme a break. Nine out of ten of them end because they weren't right for each other to begin with, and half of the ones who get married get divorced anyway, and I'm telling you right now, through all this stuff I have not become a cynic. I haven't. Yes, I do happen to believe that love is mainly about pushing chocolate covered candies and, y'know, in some cultures, a chicken. You can call me a sucker, I don't care, because I do believe in it. Bottom line: it's couples who are truly right for each other wade through the same crap as everybody else, but the big difference is they don't let it take them down. One of those two people will stand up and fight for that relationship every time. If it's right, and they're real lucky, one of them will say something."



Lo que el Dr. Cox nos quiere decir es que los amores imposibles, aquellos en los que los dos se aman pero las circunstancias de la vida los separan y ambos sufren no existen mas allá de los libros pedorros de Nicholas Sparks. Los amores imposibles son, como indica su denominación, imposibles. Solo existen en nuestra mente y en el inconsciente colectivo a traves de cientos de canciones, libros y peliculas. Pero que algo esté en nuestra mente (o en nuestro corazón) no lo hace real.

Lo mas acertado sería decir que cuando uno sufre por amor, enamoramiento u obsesion, el otro tal vez sufra pero tampoco tanto, y cuando le llegue la oportunidad de estar bien la aprovechará...

"Mermaid Eyes" de Luna te lleva de viaje por 3 minutos y medio al centro de ese amor: el amor dramático, sufrido y hermoso, lleno de frases como "I'm crying for you, you're crying for me, from station to station to station." Pero como todo canto de sirena, cuando termina volvemos a la realidad... En este caso sabiendo que afortunadamente el amor es algo mas que un simple llanto reciproco.
